This story is true. I’m almost embarrassed to tell it. In 1975 VCR players were very new. My husband was a TV so this was a must have item for him. Being such a new technology the cost was high. We (or should I say I) paid $1000 for a new VCR player. Yikes! Today over 30 years later a VCR player including a DVD player can be bought for under $100.
This prinicple also applies to big flat screen TV technology. When the supply was low, and demand high, prices were high. Prices have finally dropped drastically. As new sizes are produced smaller yet still big screens are selling for much less. This has created a big buyers market for TVs’ 32, 37 and 43 inch and up.
