Best External Hard Drive Mac Time Machine
Time Machine in Mac … The external Hard Drive must be formatted as HFS??
I listened to the tutorial on apple.com and I thought he said that the external hard drive must be formatted HFS. In addition, when playing on the Time Machine feature mentions HFS too. Apple.com has a drive Iomega said that it is HFS, but others do and what I'm looking at Best Buy do not indicate they are not. What than HFS? and can not make a HFS formatted disk works with Time Machine feature in Leopard?? (Please do not answer if you're just assuming it will be compatible, I'm assuming that other works do not know, Thanks!)
To answer your question … You can use any external hard drive. If the player does not come from the manufacturer in HFS +, you can just reformat. Connect the new drive for the Mac, then go to Applications> Utilities> Disk Utility Select the new drive in Disk Utility and choose "Delete", then choose "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" as the format of your choice. Name the player, click on "delete" and you're done. I do every time I buy an external, regardless of what format it was supposed to be shipped with. There are currently four external FireWire drives connected to my MacBookPro, all HFS + peace.
