Handheld Voice

Handheld Voice
GPS Navigation System for a car?

I am thinking of getting a GPS Navigation System for myself. Can you tell me how it works and in your opinion what would be a good name to buy? I definitely need one with the voice directions. Do you punch in the address that you want to go to from where you are located at the moment? I am the type of person that gets lost so easily and really need one that gives voice directions. Would I be okay getting a handheld one? Any help would be appreciated.

Best not to get a handheld even though I have a fw, they can distract you and cause a accident. Something like a GARMIN GPS would do you fine.
Basic operation, Unit is stuck to windshield or on dash.
Power button turns on.
Options to find some where normally include
a) type in complete address…
b) Pick a major selection like gas, bank or hospital and it will
give you a list of the closest to you to pick from.
and more…
They come with both on screen directions showing you a map AS you drive with arrows where to turn, as well as voice directions saying turn on oak street 1/4 mile on right…

You can spend from 150.00 us dollars to over a 1,000.00.
I would suggest the 199.00 one here http://garmn.factoryoutletstore.com/cat/1652/Garmin-StreetPilot-c-Series-GPS.html unless you feel the need to have a better one, it will do fine for you.

enjoy, email with questions if needed
