Nikon Coolpix Digital Cameras Prices
What is the best Nikon digital ?
for my birthday I am allowed to get “the camera of my dreams”. I know what I want, but I’m not to sure what exactly I want. The price range needs to be nothing more than a little over $1,000.
I am looking for something like this

I need to know soon so I can order and get it by my birthday. I am looking for the most professional looking images out of this camera so i can minor with it in college! and yes, it must be a Nikon.

A D90 would sit well into your budget if you are looking for an SLR.
It is part of the new generation of sensors, making the D80 (the other camera that would typically sit in your range) obsolete. The D200, which shares alot with the D80 would also be under $1000.
Keep in mind though that if you do pick up an SLR, youll need money for lenses so you can expand the range of pictures you can take. Given, you’ll be great with just a kit lens alone, but if you want the ability to put some serious zoom on, youll need to invest in a telephoto. On the flip side, if you want a really wide angle of view, expect to pay a small fortune.
If this doesnt sound like something you can fit into your budget, try for a SLR-like camera/super zoom.
