How do I put selected files onto my Western Digital portable Hard Drive if I’m a mac user?
When i first plugged it into the usb; Time Machine opened and started to back up my whole macbook…I don’t want it to do that, i simply want to put a some pictures and assignments and what not on there for more space on the actual laptop.
Just stop the Time Machine and then drag any files you want to the drive…pretty simple.
Time Machine usually will ask you first if you want to use an external drive as a Time Machine backup, just say no and it wont ask you again until you plug in a different external drive.
The drive should pop up on your desktop. Just drag and drop of save to.
