Can I use a THICK standard power cord on a LCD monitor?
So I lost my original LCD power cord. But I have another one that’s super thick for some reason. my friend told me it’s a server powercord. but IDK. so the monitor works and everything, but it heats up a little bit too much. So I was worried if the thick power cord provide more power than the LCD needed. I dont want the monitor to burn up. please make suggestions.
Your monitor won’t draw any more power than it requires. That cord is fine. Just because it is a heavier cord doesn’t mean it ‘pushes’ more power. It just means it can handle more if it needs to. They are all rated at 110 – 120volts.
