Seagate FreeAgent Pro external Hard Drive is unrecognizable, dies, etc.?
I have a FreeAgent Pro 500G USB2.0/eSATA since December 2007. It is one that has a USB port. The first time I used it, it worked fine. But now when I connect to my computer Laptop, Windows XP does not recognize. I checked Seagate's website and none of their suggestions have worked (Win XP SP2, the Device Manager, etc.etc.). Also, if I plug all power, then the external hard drive, it lights, then 15 seconds later, she shines down (powers to below). The manual shows the power drive before plugging the USB into your computer. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
IM Sorry to break it to you, but this disc is probably dead … Seagate HD download the test utility from their website and test it … im ready bet that this player is clicking too … just for fun also find another cable to the drive and make sure it is not the cable
