Western Digital External Hard Drive Macbook

How do I use an external Hard Drive?
I recently purchsed a Western Digital Passport. It’s 120 GB. I want to move my iTunes to it (I have over 13 GB of music slowing me down) and I think I would also like to back up my computer. It’s all plugged in and working fine, except I don’t know how to move information from my MacBook’s harddrive onto my WD external. I searched Western Digital’s website but I can’t find any real instruction….Help!
To move files from your MacBooks harddrive, you have to figure out where your Mac saves your music library when you download a CD or music files onto your itunes.
To find this file open your itunes, click on the edit tab and in there click on advanced. the itunes music folder path should be displayed in a box. If you locate this folder you can copy and paste or cut and paste (to move files completely from your hard drive).
And then you will have to change the path of your itunes music folder to point to your external hard drive anytime you intend to play, burn or coply music files.
Please let me know if this was any help.
