Western Digital External Hard Drive Usb Driver Download

BootCamp Mac – external HD question?

Hello, I'm using my Western Digital My Book Premium external hardrive with my Mac. I Windows installed with Boot Camp and you want to use the fire wire instead of USB. I downloaded all the drivers for the HD and plugged Mac. It works, I can access the Hard Drive and everything. The problem is that the reader does not stop when I turn on the computer. It turns off if I'm under Windows or OS X. Can anyone tell me how to get the external hard drive to shut down properly when the computer is off? I'm new to Mac and can be overlooking a simple detail. Thank you!

Looking upward on your disc on the site of Western Digital. I found this in their support page: "To disconnect your external hard drive of your Macintosh computer: 1. Simply drag the drive icon to the trash can safely remove the hard drive. 3. You unplug the power cable to the external hard drive to the wall if you want to turn off the external hard drive so it is not used. "(Also, if you have your Finder preferene configured to display icons on the desktop hard drive, you can highlight it, press Command-E, which will be disassembled, or do the same thing in one Finder window open.) I can not explain why it shows the steps 1 and 3, but not Step 2 … Hmmm ….. typo? Well, anyway, it seems WD did not put a power switch in this case to drive. Technician could add a talent to not have to crawl under your desk to unplug it.
