Western Digital External Hard Drive Vista Problems




My computer can not read my external Hard Drive. Please help! (More details)?

I have a computer Windows Vista and a 1TB Western Digital External Hard Drive. I've never had problems before and now all of a sudden my computer can not read my disk. Every time I try to access it, there is a pop-up that says: "You must format the disk in drive D: before you can use it ". Can anyone help? I activated my anti-virus, I have not downloaded anything off the Internet and no one else uses my computer. It is very important for me to save all images that are in the hard disk. They are family photos that I been collecting and family home videos. Please help!
