External Hard Drive does not mount?
I have a 250 GB Western Digital Scorpio 2.5 drive that will not mount on Vista. It is recognized with the "beep" but a disk icon never shows up in my computer. After several repeated attempts, the drive will mount it as a 1 chance 100 it rises. What can be done about this problem? The hard disk is formatted, and the cable is not lost or damaged.
hmm .. I think the cable is faulty or something, I would pick a replacement since when you plug a USB connector with nothing at the other end, you get the beep, but nothing happens. Chances are the son inside the cable are not connected with each other or something in the disc drive is broken, Go get it replaced
